Variations

Cheesy Ginger Garlic Fries: After frying the fries, sprinkle grated cheese on top while they are still hot. The cheese will melt, giving a rich and cheesy flavour.

Spicy Ginger Garlic Fries: Add extra red chilli powder or paprika to the batter if you like spicy fries. You can also sprinkle some chilli flakes on the fries after frying.

Herb-Flavored Ginger Garlic Fries: Mix dried herbs like oregano or thyme into the batter for a herby twist. You can also sprinkle fresh parsley or cilantro on top after frying.

Tips

Soak Potatoes for Crispier Fries: After slicing the potatoes, soak them in cold water for 15-20 minutes. This removes extra starch and makes the fries crispier.

Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Fry the potatoes in small batches. Too many fries in the oil at once will make them soggy instead of crispy.

Double Fry for Extra Crunch: Fry the potatoes once until they are soft, then remove them and let them cool. Fry again until they turn golden and crispy for extra crunch.
