  • Put a big pan on the stove over medium heat and melt the unsalted butter.
  • Add the uncooked rice to the melted butter. Stir it often until the rice turns a light golden color.
  • Mix in the minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Cook this mix for a few minutes.
  • Add the chopped onions and cook them until they become soft.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce and the chicken broth.
  • Bring everything to a boil and reduce the heat to low.
  • Cover the saucepan with a lid and let it simmer for 22 to 26 minutes or until the rice becomes tender.
  • Once it's done, use a fork to fluff the rice before serving.
