Heat Oil and Cook Garlic:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic and cook until it becomes soft.

Cook Mushrooms:

  • Add 1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms to the pan.
  • Sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon of chilli flakes, 1/8 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt.
  • Cook the mixture for a few minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

Add Lemon Juice:

  • Pour the juice of 1/2 lemon into the pan.
  • Stir everything well, then set the mushroom mixture aside.

Assemble the Sandwich:

  • Place 1 slice of bread on a plate.
  • Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese on the bread.
  • Spoon the sautéed mushroom mixture on top of the cheese.
  • Add another 3 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese over the mushrooms.
  • Place the second slice of bread on top.

Grill the Sandwich:

  • Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a pan over low heat.
  • Place the assembled sandwich in the pan.
  • Grill the sandwich until both sides are golden brown and the cheese has melted, flipping as needed.

Serve:

  • Remove the sandwich from the pan and let it cool slightly.
  • Cut it in half if desired and serve warm.
  • Enjoy your delicious mushroom sandwich!
