Instructions

  • Place a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add 2 teaspoons of unsalted butter and allow it to melt gently.
  • Add the chopped shallots and chopped garlic to the melted butter. Cook them for about 5 minutes until they become soft and fragrant.
  • Pour 1 cup of heavy cream into the saucepan. Stir continuously using a whisk. Let the mixture cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the cream to reduce slightly and thicken.
  • Add soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and white pepper to the saucepan. Continue whisking to combine all the flavors evenly.
  • Slowly add 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, a little at a time, while constantly stirring. This process helps create the smooth and creamy texture that Zip sauce is known for.
  • Once the butter is fully melted and the sauce thickens, remove the saucepan from the heat. Cover the sauce to keep it warm until ready to serve.
  • Your homemade Original Zip Sauce is now ready to enjoy.

Notes

Use high-quality butter for the best flavor. European-style butter like Kerrygold adds extra richness.
Always whisk the sauce continuously while adding butter to prevent separation.
Do not boil the sauce aggressively. Gentle heat helps maintain a smooth and creamy texture.
