Ingredients

Instructions

  • Grease and flour a bundt pan thoroughly. Make sure every corner is coated to prevent sticking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine:
  • Sugar
  • All-purpose flour
  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt
  • Using a wooden spoon or clean hands, mix everything together until fully combined. Make sure there are no lumps of flour or cream cheese. The batter should be thick and smooth.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared bundt pan. Smooth the top with a spoon.
  • Place the pan into a cold oven. Do not preheat.
  • Turn the oven to 300°F and bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • The cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Carefully remove the cake from the oven. Let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes. Then gently remove it from the pan and allow it to cool completely before slicing.
  • Now your homemade Miss Dot’s Pound Cake is ready to serve!

Notes

Make sure butter and cream cheese are softened before mixing.
Do not overmix the batter once everything is combined.
Starting in a cold oven helps the cake rise evenly.
Baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven.
