Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add minced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the pan. Cook while stirring frequently until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink. Drain excess liquid.
  • Mix in the hash browns, cheddar cheese, garlic salt, kosher salt, and black pepper. Stir well until everything is combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • Open the biscuit cans and separate the dough. You should have 32 biscuits total. Lightly flour your work surface and roll each biscuit into a 5½-inch round.
  • Place about ¼ cup of filling in the center of each dough round, leaving about ½ inch border around the edges.
  • Lift the edges in three sections and pinch together to form a triangle shape. Seal the seams tightly. It is okay if a little filling shows at the top.
  • Place the prepared fatayer on the lined baking sheets close together.
  • Brush the tops with melted butter. Sprinkle lightly with kosher salt.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Enjoy your homemade Magnolia Table Fatayer with your family!

Notes

Do not overfill the dough to prevent leaking.
Let the filling cool slightly before stuffing the dough.
Make sure seams are tightly sealed.
Drain the beef well to avoid soggy bottoms.
