Instructions

  • Cut the broccoli heads into small florets. Rinse well under cold water and drain.
  • Step 2: Cook the Broccoli
  • Place the broccoli in a large skillet. Add 3 cups of water, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 6–8 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender but still bright green.
  • Step 3: Drain the Water
  • Carefully drain the water from the skillet. Return the broccoli to the stove over low heat.
  • Step 4: Add Butter and Garlic
  • Add 6 tablespoons of butter to the broccoli. Let it melt completely. Stir well so the broccoli is coated evenly.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring gently.
  • Step 5: Add Parmesan Cheese
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the broccoli. Mix well until everything is coated in cheesy garlic butter.
  • Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Make the Lemon Butter Sauce
  • In a small saucepan, melt ⅓ cup butter over low heat.
  • Add grated garlic and sea salt. Cook for about 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in fresh lemon juice.
  • Add black pepper to taste.
  • Drizzle the warm lemon butter sauce over the broccoli. Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Do not overcook the broccoli. It should stay bright green and slightly firm.
Fresh lemon juice tastes better than bottled juice.
You can adjust the amount of garlic based on your preference.
If you want a lighter version, reduce the butter slightly.
