  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients – flour, dehydrated onion flakes, chili powder, paprika, cornstarch, red pepper powder, salt, cocoa powder, sugar, citric acid, garlic powder, and caramel color.
  • Heat a saucepan on medium heat, mix together the tomato paste and water until well blended.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the saucepan with the tomato paste and water. Stir well to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat in the saucepan. Once the liquid begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to combine and thicken the sauce.
