Equipment & Tools

  • Mixing bowls (2 bowls)
  • Whisk or hand mixer
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups or kitchen scale
  • Baking Pan
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Oven
  • Cooling Rack

Ingredients

Bowl 1:

Bowl 2:

  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 20 grams bread flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Line a baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the following ingredients:
  • Melted butter
  • Cocoa powder
  • Caster sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Espresso
  • Mix everything well until smooth.
  • Add two eggs to the mixture and whisk until the batter becomes thick and glossy.
  • In a separate bowl (Bowl 2), combine:
  • All-purpose flour
  • Bread flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Mix well so the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  • Gently fold the mixture using a spatula. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownies soft.
  • Chop the chocolate bar into small pieces and fold it into the batter.
  • This adds delicious melted chocolate pockets inside the brownies.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake the brownies for 20 to 25 minutes at 180°C.
  • Check doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center. It should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool for about 10–15 minutes before slicing into 12 servings.

Notes

Do not overbake the brownies if you want a fudgy texture.
Let the brownies cool before cutting to get clean slices.
Use high-quality cocoa powder for better chocolate flavor.
Espresso enhances the chocolate flavor but does not make the brownies taste like coffee.
