Instructions

  • Take 6 fresh Cuban oregano leaves. Wash them well under running water to remove any dirt. Crush them gently using your hands or a mortar and pestle. This helps release their natural oils and flavor.
  • Add 1 1/4 cup of water to a tea pan or small pot. Place it on the stove and bring it to a boil.
  • Once the water starts boiling, add:
  • Crushed Cuban oregano leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon tea powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Stir gently.
  • Let the mixture boil for about 5 minutes. This allows all the flavors to mix well and become strong and aromatic.
  • Turn off the heat. Strain the tea into a cup or glass using a strainer.
  • Your warm and soothing Cuban oregano tea is ready to enjoy!

Notes

Always use fresh Cuban oregano leaves for the best flavor.
Do not overboil for more than 5–7 minutes, or the tea may become too strong or slightly bitter.
You can adjust sugar according to your taste.
If you prefer pure herbal tea, you can skip the tea powder.
