Peel the apples with a peeler and slice the apples with a knife.
Put a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Place the sliced apples into the heated saucepan.
Add the white sugar and cinnamon over the apples.
Squeeze in the lemon juice.
Add a tiny pinch of salt.
Pour in a cup of apple juice.
Let the apples cook until they become soft. It may take around 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple juice until it's all dissolved.
Pour this cornstarch mixture into the saucepan with the apples.
Stir the mixture in the saucepan until it thickens. This should take a few minutes.
