For Cici's Sweet Roll Dough:

  • Combine 1 1/2 cups of flour and yeast in a mixing bowl.
  • Warm the milk, sugar, and butter until barely warm.
  • Beat to combine after adding to the flour mixture.
  • Beat in the egg.
  • Knead in the remaining flour and salt until smooth.
  • Let the dough rise twice, punching it down after each rise.
  • Form into rolls and place on greased pans for 45 minutes to rise.
  • Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes.

For Cici's Cinnamon Rolls:

  • Shape the dough into an 18x6-inch rectangle and brush with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle the dough with brown sugar, chopped nuts, and cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough up in a jelly-roll shape, beginning with the long edge; wet the edges and seal.
  • Make 20 slices out of the roll.
  • Put the cut side of the rolls in two lightly buttered round cake pans.
  • Let rise for 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Pour the heavy cream on top of the rolls and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes.
  • Combine the confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl and adjust the sweetness with more sugar or milk.
  • Drizzle while still warm over warm rolls.
